TAWANA MATTHEWS
Treated myself to a gel mani/Pedi for VDay. I purchased a voucher from Groupon for $55 total I was excited I wanted to get it done early so I called on Sunday before Mardi gras and was given an appointment. At the time I was staying in baton rouge to get away from the Mardi gras noise. Once my appointment was set I headed to New Orleans. Once I arrived I met the gentleman that made the appointment I didn’t know his name at the time because it wasn’t given I asked ?’s about how long the gel polish lasts was and was told 3 weeks. By the end of the appointment I was a little uneasy because one of the nails particularly my thumb didn’t look quite right. I asked the gentleman if he could correct it, he tried. The gentleman said okay let me check you out once he checked me out he said you have to pay taxes and I said taxes and he said yeah taxes I’m like oh I never knew I had to pay any taxes because I already paid Groupon I said well how much are the taxes he said about $2 so I took out the $2 and I gave it to him. I drove back to baton rouge. The next day, I noticed that the gel polish was chipping and lifting off my nails on some fingers. The gel polish on my left pinky came completely off. The polish started to swell up probably because there was so much polish select on every finger. I showed them to my sister-in-law who gets her nails done often and she said oh no I would have never paid for that. I immediately called the salon because the gentleman told me that if I had an issue with the thumb to come back in and he would repair. Since no one answered I left a voicemail. I was aware that it was a holiday Lundi Gras so I went to Google to make sure the salon was open once I saw that it was open I drove by but the place was in fact closed. I then went on Instagram to let the salon know my issues at this time they’re were now about three or four nails that started deteriorating I’ll admit that I did not check my Instagram after I left a message so I was unaware that a message was sent to me to come back in. On Wednesday after Mardi gras which was Valentine’s Day I called as soon as the salon opened and the same gentleman who did my nails answered the phone I explained to him what the problem was and he said to me you did a review and you gave us two stars I said yes I did I said but if you read my review I specifically said that I did not want to give a bad review but I just wanted things to be resolved he replied well you did with an attitude as if I was supposed to apologize. If I’m not mistaken when a customer pays for a service and you’re not satisfied with it I’ve never known anyone to give the business a good rating when there are issues with the service. I told myself that I wouldn’t entertain that moment because it was Valentine’s Day and I was in a positive mood not to mention I had plans later that night with a friend. He then told me that he had sent a message responding to mine on Instagram and I let him know that I did not check it he gave me the option to either come in between 9:00 and 11:00 on Valentine’s Day or the next day I said no I need to come in today which is Valentine’s Day I let him know that I was coming from Baton Rouge. I headed to New Orleans. When I got there I was assigned to Mona. Mona took her time and re-did every one of my nails on my hand and also one of my toes that was messed up. She was very courteous and kind and professional. I have to say that if anybody deserves a great rating she deserves does. When I started coughing she offered me water(I did receive water dental times from Rory at my 1st appointment) and this is how I found out the gentleman’s name who did my nails the 1st time. His name is Rory. On my initial review I mistakenly added the wrong name because like I said I never knew the gentleman’s name he never gave me his name when I arrived there for my first appointment. I guess this teaches me a lesson to be patient and wait and not rush things because sometimes when you rush things you end up getting below average service. I won’t be returning.

I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment with Mona. She was kind with warm and inviting energy. I’m particular about my pedicure services as my feet are important to me, a worry of if she would do my services as desired never came up. She paid attention to detail in a very refreshing way and I appreciate that along.
The ambiance was unmatched and definitely worth my drive from Reserve. This IS my new nail home…. and I’m bringing my friends. 💕

Visiting from Texas came in with hubby to get pedicures. This is a brand new black owned business, Sole’. We found them on Instagram so wanted to support. The ambiance is great, beautifully decorated, very clean. Customer service was awesome, great conversation. Our pedicures were on point. We definitely felt relaxed and
pampered. Now we have a go to spot for when we are in town next time. 😀
