Customer Reviews:
My daughter and I went on a Sunday and they must have been understaffed as each employee seemed rushed and distracted. That aside, because I understand how that is, my pedicure started off decent enough.
The removal of my gel polish was a little scary due to the rushing and careless nature of my tech. She nicked me on 3 different toes. After that, the only other issue with the pedicure was the fact that she reached up and readjusted my seat that I specifically set to my liking to suit hers. Not cool at all. My daughter didn’t have a much better pedi experience herself.
I’m assuming that the “cateye” polish technique is fairly new and not all have experience with it because another tech (one I adore!) came to do it after she removed my tips from my last mani. Now, there was a pretty significant language barrier with the first tech and she didn’t understand or maybe care that I mentioned I wanted tips 3 separate times. At that point, I didn’t care, I just wanted to be done.
I’ve never gotten cat eye nails before so it was interesting to watch, but that inexperience is probably why I’m writing this review today. When I left, I had 4 nails that were bumpy and just weird looking. (2 of them weren’t too bad.) I didn’t realize how bad it was until sitting at lunch after leaving, otherwise I would’ve mentioned it while at the shop.
About 2 hours after getting home, the worst of the bumpy nails peeled off and was still wet underneath like the polish never set at all under the uv light. The second peeled off later that night. The third, after my shower this morning. The fourth is still intact currently. The remaining nails look pretty great and I love the style! I’m just not sure what went wrong.
I also want to mention that the pricing is a bit of a mystery. My first time, I paid $95 for a basic pedi with gel polish and an sns with tips mani. This time, I paid $100 for a basic pedi with gel polish and a cat eye gel mani with no tips and a $5 coupon. Does cat eye REALLY cost that much more than acrylics? The only difference between it and regular gel is the magnet. Either way, I’m not sure how I feel about the shop because the first experience was great. Maybe I’ll give them one more chance to redeem themselves? Idk
Aside from this, the salon is clean and mostly friendly.
*edited to add the pictures are of the nicks on my toes and the results of the polish coming off. (This happened in less than 24 hours) And to show the bumpiness on the remaining 4th nail. (Right hand, ring finger)
