Customer Reviews:
I came in and discussed the options and pricing with the girl that set me up with. She was brand new to the salon and only there a couple weeks. I liked her and she was pleasant to talk to.
After discussing my options on cost and the lack of places that do hard gel overlays I opted to switch to acrylic. That meant completely removing the gel and starting over which we did.
I showed photos of my nails from working with Mr tech back home the past five years and explained that I like them very square and not too thin.
Things felt as if they were going well with the removal and application of the acrylic.
The one thing I was upset with during the process (but it was too late to do anything once I noticed they were being so quickly filed) was they were filed in a shape i did not ask for. They were too round. I kept saying “I want them square like the photos I was showing” but as you can see from the purple photos in the review they are definitely not square. I’ve attached 2 photos at the end of the purple photos to show my normal look and feel from my previous salon back home. These are what I showed the tech. Since they were already filed this way I just dealt with it since everything else seemed great and I was happy to have a new place to go.
I agreed to pay the $90 quoted for removal, new acrylic overlay and those chrome polish. Back home you can get detailed art for $2 per nail but Buford area is astronomical for any art or specialty design for each place I’ve called or tried and they don’t quote you a price like this and all want to see the example first. This purple chrome nail polish I ended up with was, I believe, $15 extra just to add. 😳 I should have skipped it and went with regular gel polish. 🤷🏻♀️
Anyway with the low light in the salon I thought I was happy with the final out outcome minus the terrible shape. I left the salon and stated driving home and in the daylight I could see how incredibly lumpy the acrylic was applied (as you can see from my photos attached in purple). I’ve never had nails so thick at the cuticle and bumpy and wavy throughout so I was extremely disappointed.
I was further disappointed that one day later I looked down to find the thumb chipped (see first photo). At $90 I was so upset.
Everyone told me to go back and make them fix my acrylic but that makes me uncomfortable to do so I dealt with it. This I s my third place in town that was either ridiculous in price for a refill of hard gel plus art or left me disappointed in the look.
I guess I’ll be trying a forth new place in the coming week trying to find somewhere that is reasonably priced with 2/4 nails with a design (compared to what I’m used to up north) and hope they can fix and level out the lumpiness of my brand new set of acrylics.
