Terrible, disappointing service today. I have been coming to Somerset since I moved to Royal Oak a little over a year ago and I have never been spoken to so disrespectfully by the staff. The first photo is of the beautiful nails I got done here for Valentine’s day. I came back today to receive my usual soak off and fresh set, and Nina, the technician I sat down with, completely ruined my experience. She was dismissive and rude, she hurt my nails, she did not assess my existing set at all before digging into my fingers with the tweezers. Then, she threw her tools down aggressively and told me “I can’t do it!” and asked someone else to take me over. I understand that sometimes you get switched to different nail techs, but I’ve never been treated so badly by a tech. I sat down with the owner for my soak off and he immediately noticed how upset I was. I explained to him the experience I just had had with Nina, and he did not do anything to remedy the situation. I am so disappointed. I loved coming to Somerset and think the quality of their work is wonderful. I recommend my friends and customers go here all the time but obviously I will be retracting my recommendation after this. I am so sad to have to find a new spot to go to after this. I asked the owner to simply remove my previous set, so I could get my nails done somewhere else, He did not charge me for the service, which I think is only appropriate. I will never come back here.

This was my first time trying this nail salon. My nail tech was very polite and welcoming! And the service was very friendly although the prices are a little high for the quality. I got a full set that were stiletto shaped and just one color of polish and it came out to $90 before tip. Everyone here I met was so nice but the price has deterred me from coming back.

I got my nails done here two days ago and I am upset an bit about my nails. I asked for blue arua nails, which I will show the first picture, but the person knew my nails did not know how to do it, which I completely understand but she didn’t tell me she couldn’t or anything so I thought, it would be fine it was not. 24 hours after getting my nails done. I realize the chips, bubbles/ Black dots, and like weird spots. I am upset about that but there’s nothing I can do about it.

I used to love this nail salon. I don’t know what has happened. I switched about a year ago and went this past week due to desperation (mine was closed for the holiday), I hate my nails, they look cubbed, and I didn’t get what I asked for. I would ask for something and the nail tech would rudely respond with how “this” would look better. $75 for some clubbed thick nails is insane. RUN! Oh, and they’re already chipping!
