I ordered online several times. There was a sale on a kayak that I was really looking forward to and I liked it. I ordered it for the first time and was waiting for it. he was supposed to arrive in a few days, but we ended up at the store earlier because my boyfriend also ordered a kayak and it arrived earlier. As a result, at the counter they tell us that my order was canceled because it was out of stock. They didn’t even notify me or send me a letter that my order was cancelled. I wait all this time and make plans, but in the end it turns out that my time is simply wasted. and in the same way, I decided to place another order, since the website did not indicate that it was out of stock. I ordered it and the next day the discount ended. I was glad that I managed to buy a kayak at a discount and was waiting for it. 5 days later I check the order again and they canceled it and I also didn’t know about it. It’s a shame that I lost a week and a half of time and didn’t get anything

So my took our daughter went Sunday to get a bike she had seen online she wanted after extensive researching and comparing. When they got home my husband was like, “the salesman was being racist towards us”. I asked what happened. So when she went in and told the salesman exactly which bike she wanted, his response to her was “are you sure that’s the bike you want. That’s an $800 bike”. My daughter didn’t think anything of it but my husband was like what!!! He being the person he is didn’t say anything. It would have been pretty if I was there. My question is why the response sir, can black people not afford an $800 bicycle. If that was not the only place in the area that sold that exact bicycle, I would have made her take it back. Unbelievable!!!

When my wife and I are in town we use to like to go into REI. This past weekend we went in, and I found some pants that I had been looking at for a while online but never bought because I wanted to be able to try them on. Low and behold, an entire 4 sided rack with all available colors AND a bold sign that read “20% off” lucky me. The regular price of the pants are $180 so the sale price should be give or take $145. So finding my size an associate (who was extremely friendly) was talking the pants up to my wife and I and even mentioned how they were on sale and how good of a deal it was. I tried one pair on and liked them so I grabbed 2 colors. Fast forward a few minutes to checkout, the guy behind the counter rang me up to almost $400. I asked him how much the pants were a pair and he said $180, so I reminded him about the 20% off and he looked very confused. He walked away to go check, while he was gone I got onto REI’s website and they were also reading on sale for $144. He came back and told me that they were not on sale in which I turned my phone around to show him they were also on sale on REI’s website. All he said was “wow, that’s so weird.” He then asked if I was still interested in buying the pants and I said no thank you and my wife and I left. Long winded review, so I apologize. I just wanted to let people know to watch sales and make sure to check receipts. I’m not one to complain about spending good money but I’m not above catching a good sale. I just wish they would have honored it.

Went to exchange a hammock that had snags on it that I had just bought – should’ve been an easy process. I didn’t think it was a big deal but the associate was very rude and told me it wasn’t an important part of the item and that I had just been here. I paid a lot of money for it so I just didn’t want snags on it. Then I asked to make sure I wasn’t charged twice and he pointed at the receipt and said “no! See?” Just a weirdly rude experience.

I came here on the 24th looking for some items I wanted for our upcoming camping trip. I have not camped since I was a kid and am not up to date with all the new items offered.
I looked around and selected a few items I wanted to purchase. I met a REI employee named, PJ when I had some questions about hammocks. He was a good source of information. I checked out, signed up for the Lifetime membership with REI. Maurico checked me out. He had a great attitude.
Everyone I met was welcoming and helpful. When I got home I found one of the 3 utensil set I purchased had the wrong sku sticker on it and I was charged a little more for it over the other 2 sets. I called and explained the issue and I live a long drive away. I asked if they could help me get the over charge fixed over the phone. I was transfered to Maurico. I told them if they could not help me over the phone I understood but I figured I would try. Mauricio never once appeared to not care, rude but only tried to help. In the end, he was able to help me resolve the overcharge. I want to point out his positive attitude and willingness to help, even when at first it appeared he was not going to be able to.
I recommend their REI membership due to the onetime 30$ upfront cost and the benefits you get from being a member. If you need anything for camping, rock climbing, biking, hiking clothes you should check them out. They have a lot online as well.
