I’ve been living in Boston for 3 years and is the best nail salon I’ve encountered. I’m a regular now and love the service. Always getting compliments on my nails. Price is reasonable and worth the quality

i’ve been coming to this nail salon since 2013 and i love them so much. They even remember the little things like asking “how’s my mom? “

Even though I had a bad experience at Town Nails before, I decided to give it another chance and I officially will not be coming back again. I never leave reviews but I am so upset and want to warn other people about coming here.

I came in for an acrylic full set with french tip and sparkle design. At first it was going well and I had hope that I would love the finished results. However, that all changed after my nail tech finished her acrylic application. When she laid the acrylic powder on my nails, there would be so much excess on the underside of the nail tips so she used a cuticle pusher to take off the excess. This left dried acrylic on all my fingertips that I couldn’t remove until I got home and had to use a nail file on my skin to get it off. After, she began to file the top of my nails using a nail filer and she filed into my cuticles to the point where I was bleeding from multiple fingers. It was so painful and I just don’t understand why she was filing my cuticles. It makes no sense to use a file because the file is rectangle shaped and there is no way you can cut down customer’s cuticles precisely without hurting them. To make it worse, she began using actual cuticle cutters on me and did a sloppy job. They were uneven, and she cut some cuticles but left some. I have never had a salon cut me before, and my cuticles have never looked this bad after getting my nails done.

When it came to the design, I wanted french tip with different colors on each finger. I appreciate her accommodating my request because I know it is annoying that I chose 5 colors. It didn’t come out perfect but at this point, I knew there was a limit on how much she can do. From afar, they don’t look too bad but up close, you can see many imperfections. Some sides of the nail are lacking polish and some the french tip is patchy and see through. I also wanted a sparkle design on each nail but halfway through the design she began putting top coat and cuticle oil on me and I was very confused why she stopped without finishing. In my reference photo, there’s clearly sparkles on all nails but she only did them on 2 fingers each hand. She didn’t say anything, she just stopped the design. And I didn’t say anything for multiple reasons. First, she was struggling with the sparkles and kept having to wipe them off and redo it over and over. They didn’t come out like the picture at all. I felt bad honestly so I didn’t even want them anymore. Second, I was uncomfortable and in so much pain from her filing my cuticles so I just wanted to leave. It had been 3 hours since she started and her doing the sparkles on the rest of my nails would have taken even longer. I personally thought the design was simple and I don’t think it should have taken 3 hours.

The fact that this salon is on Newbury St. is appalling to me. I expected my nails to come out better considering I was charged $90 (not including tip). My nails are not even completely finished even though I was there for 3 hours. I don’t think this salon deserves to be on Newbury St. as the prices are not justified by the work. It’s way too expensive for the nails and service I received.

I’ve been going to Hannah since the summer for a builder gel manicure every 3-4 weeks and she does a perfect job every time! My nails haven’t chipped or broken at all since going to her! It always looks flawless. Hannah is definitely the best nail tech I’ve ever had!!

I absolutely love Town. I’ve been getting my nails done here for the past decade. They can always accommodate you, they’re a much more affordable option on Newbury St, and my nails always come out looking fabulous. They also don’t skimp out on the pedicure foot massage which is important. Even though I don’t live in Back Bay anymore I still travel to get my nails done at Town
