Elegant Nail Spa

Fun festive nails here. Staff was really friendly, yanit was the nail attendant who helped me. It was a little confusing that all the nail polishes were in boxes, but they just said to grab the color in the box I liked. The design was a last minute thought, but they had a ton of fun options. One of the girls had these adorable sparkle boots and they went through the trouble to find it from the macys website and gave me the link. The went above and beyond! Loved it! Highly recommend. It’s also super convenient location next to shop rite and home goods. I had to get my tires done at mavis in the same complex so it was walking distance. Perfect location.

The owner of this salon is both verbally & emotionally abusive to her workers and extremely rude to the customers coming in. I watched her yell at my nail tech while she was doing my pedicure several times as if she was her slave. I felt so bad I overtipped my tech and apologized for her behavior and for embarrassing her. It made everyone in the salon highly uncomfortable. Not only that but then the owner overcharged me by double for a service that is clearly displayed at the register as half of that. Don’t go here.

A friend said this is a good nail salon, so I figured I would give it a try; I will not be returning. I went in for a gel manicure, and the woman who did my nails told me they are too short and cannot do the design; the design was simple; white nails with one gold finger. As she was doing my nails, she continued to tell me where I had previously gotten them done, did a lousy job, and that she cannot work with them. As she was painting my nails, she repeatedly said to me to stop moving my hand while she was the one pulling and twisting it multiple ways. When painting the nails, she kept painting my skin too. When she noticed, she complained that my nails are again too short to paint. I have never had any other person complain about my short nails until coming to this salon; mind you, I have been getting my nails done for ten years. Once my nails were drying in the led light, she kept yelling, I am moving and hitting my nails, causing them to bubble up. I did no such thing! This woman frequently accused me of doing something I was not doing; this was horrible customer service, and I will not be returning. I do not recommend this salon.

Decided to give this nail salon a try after seeing the good reviews. However, after my experience I am stunned that this place got 4 & 5 star reviews.. I would barely give this place 1 star. Walked in & wasn’t greeted for several minutes. Was looked at & seen by several workers & even the owner who continued a conversation with someone getting their nails done instead of addressing me at the front. When I was finally acknowledged it was a very cold, off-putting experience. No “hi how are you, how can I help you” etc. just an abrupt “pick a color.” I felt like they almost didn’t want me there, like I was bothering them by even coming in.
The worst of all was the gel manicure. I’ve lived in Bergen County my entire life so maybe my standards are a little high for a gel manicure? I had been going to the same nail salon in Ramsey for 5 years but because I moved I had to find somewhere new. My gel manicures would not start to chip or “lift” for at LEAST a week & a half.
The gel manicure I received at Elegant nails started to chip after THREE days. Unheard of.
Below is a picture. On day 4, the gel actually started lifting off & peeling. Mind you, I do not do anything crazy with my hands during my typical days so there was & is no reason the gel shouldn’t have lasted at least a week minimum. I am not sure as to why this happened, either cheap gel polish or poor techniques used by the nail tech (although the owner herself was the one who did my nails, so you would think my nails would be done satisfactory…)
Long story short, save your money & take your business elsewhere & do not trust the good reviews written about this nail salon…I am not sure how they even have any. Very disappointed & upset I wasted my money on a gel manicure that had the same lifespan as a regular manicure.

Yen is the best nail tech!! Everyone at elegant nails is so nice and friendly to be around! Yen does an amazing job with my acrylics. She is so precise w details and is so gentle when filing. Highly recommend
