I’ve been going to 718 beauty bar for years, and have had several types of services which have all been 10/10, regardless of the tech! I have had several UV gel manicures with Rosa and Silvia, and regular gel manicures with Rosa, Silvia, Yuli and Veronica and have been in love each time (the pictures I’ve attached speak for themselves).
One specific experience I’d like to note is today— I arrived with a very thick, uncomfortable “structure gel” manicure from a different salon I visited while I was in my hometown. Silvia was able to remove it seamlessly and painlessly, and informed me about their “rubber base” that serves as a slightly stronger base coat for weaker nails, which I love!
Cannot recommend this salon or staff enough.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

The terrible service started from the moment I called this was my second time coming but first time doing manicure because I normally used to go somewhere else but they moved… I called and booked a Russian Manicure + Regular pedi…. For 2 days before my appointment even happened I kept getting different emails with new times it started at 3:00 pm and by Friday night a day before my appointment they have put me already to 3:45pm, 45 min further than my original appt with out any call informing me or asking if that would be okay for me… which I find absurd but seems to be a regular practice to them since I saw another person at same day complaining about the same thing.
Upon arriving to my appointment I was assigned a nail tech and I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what but terrible attitude , energy and aggressive she was so hard with the drill that I was in pain and discomfort thru the whole time…. She clearly didn’t know what is a Russian manicure and how it is supposed to be done… she was clearly annoyed that she had to removed my previous gel from my old nail tech and at times my nail hurt of how hard she was on them my nails specially thumbs were bruised from how hard she was being it felt very uncalled for…. The only “Russian manicure “ part I got was getting my cuticle removed but material applied , polish technique wasn’t existent ,they’re extremely unprofessional I could hear her nagging with another nail tech from my seat about me having the work of another nail tech in my nails….
I went on to pedicure and I don’t know if she was a new or what but definitely not experienced…. All my photos is same day as soon I got home…..
my pedicure looks like it got painted by someone with their eyes covered … they rushed me out even tho I been there since 3:30 because they’re closing at 6 and sent me with some wrap on my toes which clearly wasn’t ready yet

This was my last time to ever come to this place I rather go all the way to NYC and get done there ….

Wouldn’t recommend, not even for a basic gel manicure. Foil soaked acetone has been left on too long, to the point where my fingers have started to burn/hurt.

I attempted a hard-gel (acrylic) service once – that was a major mistake. 2 nails popped off clean and 4 other were lifting around the corners within 48 hours because the nail wasn’t properly filed/prepped. When I raised the issue the manager, rather than taking accountability, she claimed it was a “quality issue with the gel polish”.

The pedicure stations are not stable, the foot rest slides around, and are not comfortable. They over-file to remove gel polish, so nails end up being paper-thin and easily break. Most times I end up leaving with open cuts from over-clipped cuticles.

Everyone has bad days, so I’ve returned several times and booked with various techs to give 718 another shot. But it’s just been shoddy, overpriced service, after shoddy, overpriced service.

There’s no sense of customer service/satisfaction, they’re just trying to get through as many clients as possible. With all the nail salon options available, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

I’ve been coming to 718 for over a year now and will never stop! When I first moved to Jersey City I couldn’t find a salon that accomplished what I wanted every time until I ventured into Hoboken after reading great views about this salon. I have been fortunate enough to LOVE my nails EVERY single time (which as women, we all know is a WIN!) Faye, the owner, treats all of her customers with the utmost kindness and respect as well as warm and authentic gratitude. The nail techs are all very talented and take their time to make sure you love your nails. Make sure you book an appointment as walk-ins are typically not able to be served due to high volume of customers. Bonus: you can get a glass of complimentary champagne while you pamper yourself 😉
